Terms of Use - Carapace

Plain language: Carapace is a work management dashboard that reads and writes data on Solid Pods you control. Your data stays in your Pod. We don't store, process, or have access to your work data.

1. What Carapace Is

Carapace is a browser-based dashboard for managing agent work graphs stored on W3C Solid Protocol servers. It connects to Solid Pods using the Solid-OIDC authentication standard. Carapace is provided by Interition Digital Transformation Limited ("Interition", "we", "us").

2. Your Data

You are responsible for the access control settings on your Solid Pod. Carapace respects whatever permissions the Solid server enforces.

3. Alpha: crawlout.io

Note: This alpha version of Carapace connects exclusively to crawlout.io, a Solid Pod server operated by Interition. While the Carapace application itself does not store or process your data, your Pod data is held on infrastructure we operate. The data sovereignty principles in Section 2 still apply — Carapace the application never intercepts your data — but as the server operator, Interition has responsibilities for data held on crawlout.io.

crawlout.io is a pre-production alpha service provided without SLA or data durability guarantee. Do not store data you cannot afford to lose. See crawlout.io for server-specific terms. Future versions of Carapace will support connecting to any Solid server.

4. Solid Protocol

Carapace relies on the W3C Solid Protocol and Solid-OIDC for authentication and data access. In future versions that support multiple servers, we will not be responsible for the availability, security, or behaviour of third-party Solid servers you connect to.

5. No Warranty

Carapace is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, data accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. This is pre-release software under active development.

6. Intellectual Property

The Carapace software, documentation, and ontology are the intellectual property of Interition Digital Transformation Limited. The work graph ontology (vocab.ttl) is provided for use with Carapace and may be used in your own Solid applications.

7. Acceptable Use

You may use Carapace to manage work data on Solid Pods you own or have authorised access to. You must not use Carapace to access Pods without authorisation or to interfere with Solid server operations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Interition shall not be liable for any loss of data, business interruption, or damages arising from your use of Carapace. Since your data lives on Solid Pods you control, data recovery and backup are your responsibility.

9. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Carapace after changes constitutes acceptance.
